James Richard Lee, 79, of Brunswick passed away January 17, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Lee was born in Beaumont, CA, where he and brother George raised by their father and grandfather, after his mother's death. The Lee ranch raised horses and grew Alberta Peaches. Mr. Lee married Alma on August 1, 1959 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church(Bwk). Retired US Navy air traffic controller, later served Glynn County Sheriff's Department, then Department of Justus, United States Marshall. Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his mother Victoreen Duncan Lee in 1942; father, Richard Elbert Lee in 1992; son, Richard George Lee in 2007 and wife, Alma Juanita Davenport Lee in 2012. He is survived by daughter, Julie Walters (Shane); grandchildren, Shay LeeAnn Walters and Zachary James Walters, all of Lavonia, GA; step grandson Charles Brown(Stacey), great granddaughter, Isabella Brown of Charleston, S.C.; brother, George Lee (Arlene) of Benton, AR.; sister-in-law's, Joyce Chandler of Wetumpka, AL. and Jan Williams of Brunswick;. several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 at North Brunswick Christian Church with services following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.
