James F. "Bobie" Willis, 79, Townsend, died Tuesday at Hospice of the Golden Isles. He had lived there since 1972 coming from Brunswick..He was a lifelong mechanic and was a cowboy. He was an honorary member of the Diamond Bar D Saddle Club, and the Bill Smith Hunting Club. He was an active member of New Living Waters Church of God in Townsend. Surviving are his wife of 58 years Doris L. Willis of Townsend; a son, James E. Willis (Meta) of Valona; 4 daughters, Nellie Ryals of Townsend, Frances Rowe (Charlie) of Riceboro, Shirley Howard (Tony) of Townsend, and Diane Lamb (Rusty) of Darien. A brother, J.Lee Willis of Oveda, Fla, 4 sisters, Clare Walker of Claxton, Betty Franklin of Reidsville, Patsy Newham of Vidalia, and Alice Ryals of Townsend. 7 grandchildren, Cynthia Evans, James Ryals, Mandy Ryals, Charlie Rowe, Justin Lamb, Brad Willis, and John Ryals. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
