Obituary

Mrs. Jean Krauss Grace, 87, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at Gracemore Nursing Home. Mrs. Grace was born in Brunswick, GA on February 29, 1920 to Daniel Alexander Krauss and Eunice Seabrook Krauss. She graduated from Glynn Academy and the University of Georgia. She worked at the Brunswick Shipyard as a welder checker during World War II. Each member of the Krauss family served their country in some capacity during the war. Following the war she war married and began her teaching career. Mrs. Grace taught Science Research, Health, and Biology in Glynn County for many years. Upon retiring she enjoyed traveling and working in her church as well as serving on the Glynn County Board of Education. She was a member of the Brunswick DAR and lifelong member the First Presbyterian Church of Brunswick. Mrs. Grace is survived by two children, Nancy Grace Hogsett (Dan) of Arlington, Texas, and Daniel Robert Grace (Pam) of Darien, Georgia; along with her brother, D. Richard Krauss (Lynn) of Brunswick, Georgia and sister, Nan Krauss Riley of Macon, Georgia. She has five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Grace devoted her life to her children, her family, church, and her students. Pallbearers are Richard Krauss, Wallace Hogsett, William Hogsett, Hamilton Hogsett, Ron Jones, and Jack McMenamin. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to either First Presbyterian Church, Brunswick: Children's Summer Camp Fund, 1105 Union Street, Brunswick, GA 31520, or Gracemore Nursing Home Special Needs Fund, 2708 Lee Street, Brunswick, GA 31520. Funeral arrangements are handled by Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home.
