Jeffrey Robert Berry, 65, of St. Simons Island, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. Jeff was born to O. Robert Berry and Luella Berry on Sept. 7, 1951, in Plainfield, N.J. He graduated in 1971 from Wardlaw Country Day School in Edison, N.J., received a B.A. in history from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., in 1975, and received his J.D. from San Fernando Valley College of Law in Los Angeles, Calif., in 1978. He opened his law practice in Brunswick, Ga., in 1980 where he pursued his love of the law. Jeff will be remembered for the boundless love he had for his family and his truly unwavering compassionate and generous nature. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Kevin Michael Berry. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Jennifer Lutz Berry; his children, Megan Marie Ferris (Jedd), Craig Patrick Berry (Gabby), Jordan Robert Berry and Jeffrey Alex Berry; brother, R. Scott Berry (Melissa); sister, Linda Berry; seven grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at St. William Catholic Church, St. Simons Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
