Jeffrey William Ethridge
October 27, 1955 – December 28, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jeffrey William Ethridge, 69, of Brunswick, GA. Jeff passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones.
Jeff was born on October 27, 1955, in Phoenixville, PA, to William and Lottie Ethridge. Growing up in a Navy family, Jeff had the unique opportunity to travel the globe, living in Key West, FL, and French Morocco, Africa, before his family settled in Brunswick, GA. His father played a pivotal role in founding what is now FLETC in Glynco, GA, where Jeff's family built their roots.
Jeff is survived by his two children, Jeremy Ethridge (Amber) of Brunswick, GA, and Jennifer Greer (Curtis) of Kearneysville, WV; his sister, Pat Akins (Jeff) of Statesboro, GA; and four beloved grandchildren: Landon Ethridge, Aden Ethridge, Justin Traynham, and Lottie Greer. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 40 years, Pattie Andrews Ethridge; his parents; and his two brothers, John and Bo Ethridge.
Jeff was a man of God whose faith was the cornerstone of his life. He touched many through the Gospel of Christ, sharing his unwavering belief and inspiring others to walk in faith. He believed in working hard and loved his family dearly. Among his many passions, Jeff's greatest and most cherished lifelong achievement was serving as the leader of Boy Scout Troop 201. Through his mentorship, he helped shape the lives of countless young men, instilling values of integrity, perseverance, and service that they carried into adulthood.
In addition to his work with the Boy Scouts, Jeff had a passion for serving his community. He was a proud member of the Brunswick Exchange Club, The Elks Lodge, and a Free Mason. Through his faith and service, Jeff left a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Brunswick Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society in Jeff's honor.
Though we grieve his absence, we rejoice in knowing that Jeff has been made whole in Christ, welcomed into eternal rest, and now stands in the presence of his Savior. ROLL TIDE!
Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.
