Jerry Mack Chambers, 74, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Jerry was born and raised in Alachua, Florida and graduated from Santa Fe High School. He furthered his education through Cornell College. During his teen years, he began his career bagging groceries at a local grocery store. He continued working his way up to produce manager and then on to store manager with Food Lion which later became known as Harvey's. Through his years of hard work, Jerry received many accolades and awards for outstanding service and devotion. He was a dedicated member of Pine Haven Baptist Church. Throughout Jerry's life, fishing and supporting the Florida Gators brought him much enjoyment. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, JC and Hilda Chambers. He is survived by 2 daughters, Sherri Gail Vinier (Bradley) of Dundee, FL and Amanda Moore (Bill) of Renton, WA; a sister, Sandra Steele (Sidney) of High Springs, FL; a brother, Ronald Chambers (Linda) of Lake City, FL; grandchildren, Logan Reeves, Lilah, Aubrey Jane, and Silas Moore; beloved friend, Mary Edna Grassi; several nieces and nephews; and he leaves behind his 2 beloved pet companions, Toby and Tipper. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of Pine Haven Baptist Church. Jerry's Sunday School Class will be Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles or the Humane Society of South Georgia.
