Jim Hansel Blanton, 65, of Brunswick, Georgia passed away on February 24, 2024. He was born on November 7, 1958, to the late Kim and Julia Blanton.

A lifelong resident of Brunswick, Jim was a graduate of Brunswick High School. In his later years, he spent over a decade working for International Auto Processing (IAP). Jim was a devoutly faithful man and proud member of First Free Will Baptist Church.

In his free time, Jim could often be found fishing and hunting. He was a true family man and cared for his aging parents as their health declined with care, compassion, and devotion.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Kim and Julia Blanton; and his brother, Don Blanton.

He is survived by a sister, Sheryl Prendergast (Bill); nieces, Shannon Sellers and Brittany Warrick (Jake); a nephew, Delton Gay; an aunt, Laverne Blanton; and several great nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at First Free Will Baptist Church on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chris McEachern officiating. Burial will follow at Brunswick Memorial Park, with Doug Coffey, Gary Parmenter, Randy Rozier, David Kersey, Darryl Wiggins, and Aaron Saunders serving as pallbearers.
