Joan Dill Ligon, 81, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away on March 29, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 19, 1943, to the late J.B. Dill and Jeannette Shoultz in Tifton, Georgia.
A graduate of Glynn Academy, Joan went on to marry the love of her life, Johnny Henry Ligon, on September 24, 1960, during his time in the Air National Guard. After spending some time working as Secretary for First Baptist Church, Joan co-owned Woodland Mobile Home Park with Johnny for over two decades.
Joan loved her family and cherished any time spent with them above all else. She also enjoyed crocheting, working with ceramics, and cooking for her family, friends, and those closest to her.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. Dill and Jeannette Shoultz; her loving husband, Johnny Henry Ligon; as well as her grandmother, Amy Green, with whom she shared a very special bond.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy Morris (Doug), Ann Owens (Joe), and Judy Thomas; as well as her special friends who became like daughters, Rhonda O'Quinn and Diann Burns; grandchildren, Lindsey Cravey (Nathan). Lauren Hulett (Casey), Leslie Rumbaugh (Josh), Justin Davis (Caitlin), Brandon Thomas, Christin Thomas, and Cricket Hatcher (Ross); a step-sister, Linda Shoultz; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Annette LaRoche; and nieces, Michelle Dye and Denise Baggett.
A memorial service will be held at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with a visitation beginning 30 minutes prior.
