In Loving Memory of Joey Blaine Underwood

December 30, 1956 – Forever in Our Hearts

Joey Blaine Underwood, 69, of Brunswick, passed away on January 13, 2026.

Joey Blaine Underwood was a man who left the world more beautiful than he found it — literally and figuratively. For decades, he dedicated his life to landscaping, transforming ordinary spaces into places of peace, color, and life. From Georgia to Alabama, Virginia to West Virginia, his hard work is still rooted in the soil of every place he touched.

Joey was married to the love of his life, Marina Underwood, for 21 years. Together they built a life filled with laughter, resilience, and deep love. He was a proud father to Jennifer Underwood and Joshua Underwood, and carried forever in his heart his son, Jerry Dean Underwood, who preceded him in passing.

Family meant everything to Joey. He was a devoted grandfather to Erin, Sara, Isabella, Brodie Patterson, and Summer Underwood, and a joyful great-grandfather to Eris, Grayson, and Lilith — a role he wore with absolute pride.

If you knew Joey, you knew two things for sure: he worked harder than anyone in the room, and he loved fiercely. Nowhere was that love more obvious than with his loyal dog, Lena. She wasn't just a pet — she was his shadow, his comfort, and his best friend.

Joey's legacy lives on in every garden he nurtured, every tree he planted, and every life he impacted. He showed us that beauty is something you create — with your hands, your heart, and your time.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
