John R. Chancy, Sr., 80, of Brunswick passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the local hospital. A lifelong resident of Glynn County, Mr. Chancy was a retired engineer who had worked for Hercules, Inc. for 36 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Chancy was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Hazel J. Chancy of Brunswick; Three daughters, Annette Kingslaver of St. Simons Island and Jackie Driggers and Linda Ray, both of Brunswick; Two sons, Gerald Chancy of White Oak and James Bridger of Woodbine;one sister, Ann LaCross of Darien; Nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were: Gregory Loper, Jr., James Driggers, Marvin Landon, Robbie Ray, Erik Ray and Johnny Ray. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Glynn. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
