John Peter Prior also known as King George at Hercules, 77, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in London, England to the late John Frederick Prior. He played semi-professional soccer and was a bouncer at several pubs in his youth. John came to the United States in 1976 and later became an American citizen. He worked at Hercules for 15 years. He was an avid soccer and American football fan. John loved hunting with his friends from Hercules. He also loved reading especially at Starbucks on St. Simons Island. He was known by his 1968 Dodge Charger RT. John liked music of all kinds and particularly loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Teresa Prior; two sons, Clifford John Prior (Christina) and Alex James Prior (Cheryl); three daughters, Jackie Ann Adams (Larry), Sara Jane Anderson (Ken), and Odette Irene Dennis (Jarrod); mother, Ada Georgina Prior; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Allan Frederick Prior (Valerie); a niece, Tracey Houdghton (Paul) and two great-nieces. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home.
