John Hamilton Stiles, 88, of Brunswick passed away Sunday, May 21, 2006 at his son's residence in Alpharetta, GA. He was a native of Brunswick and graduated from Glynn Academy High School. He loved Brunswick and the islands where he spent the entirety of his life. His 45 year career was spent at the Brunswick Pulp and Paper Mill from which he retired in 1983. His only interlude from his career was World War II where he served in Europe as a B-26 gunner. His passions were his family, his church and golf, where he shot his age just three years ago. He was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Church where he recently receieved the Gartland Service Award from the Diocese of Savannah. He is survived by his sister, Eleanor Cate; his son, John H. Stiles, Jr and Family: Valerie, Christopher and Jessica; his daughter, Rebecca C. Rogers and Family: Robert and Yvonne. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
