Joseph L. Baggarley, Jr., 64, of Brunswick, passed away at Southeast Georgia Health System on Monday, March 1, 2021, after an extended battle with COVID-19.
Born in Palatka, FL, on April 28, 1956, to Joe L. and Ruth Allen Baggarley, Joe graduated from Glynn Academy with the class of 1974 and was a veteran of the United States ARMY. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Brunswick where he served as deacon, greeter, choir member, and head of ushers.
Joe had a heart for missions and served in both Jamaica and Peru. He was a passionate supporter and volunteer for Samaritan's Purse of Operation Christmas Child and was a member of Georgia Disaster Relief Team.
He loved riding his Harley-Davidson. He also enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and bike riding with his wife. Joe was very active in his grandchildren's sporting events and was known as "Papa Joe" to all their teammates.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Allen Baggarley.
He is survived by his wife, Syndie Baggarley; daughters, Kerri Kanoy (Anson), Brandi Brauda (Brandon), and Katlyn Eddings (Michael); step-son, Matthew Tyre; eight grandchildren, Isaiah, Ethan, Landen, Bella, Chandler, Callie, Kelsey, and Cambrie; brother, John O. Baggarley, Sr. (Christy); sister, Eva Tarplee (Scott); and three nephews and four nieces.
A graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2021, at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.
