Joseph Edward McCall, Sr., aged 87, passed away on November 22, 2025, in Brunswick, GA. He was born on December 21, 1937 to the late Mrytle and Otis McCall, Sr.
J.E., as he was affectionately known, was a beacon of faith and service throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brothers, Otis McCall, Jr, Delmer McCall, and his cherished wife, Ruby McCall.
J.E. leaves behind a legacy of love and service, survived by his son, Edward (Jessica) McCall, daughter, Teresa McCall, and his granddaughters, Rebekah (JT) Johnson, Victoria (Robert) Lane, Lynsey (Ryan) Navarro, and Mallorie (MaCayla) McCall. He was a proud great-grandfather to BayLee Johnson, Abbie (Katie) Curry, and Ashton Curry. J.E.'s life was also enriched by many nieces and nephews.
J.E. was deeply committed to his Baptist faith. He served as a deacon for Fellowship Baptist Church before becoming a long-standing member of Pine Haven Baptist Church. He later attended Tabernacle Christian Church. His dedication to his beliefs was evident in how he lived his life, always eager to share the message of Jesus with everyone he met.
Alongside his late wife, Ruby, J.E. was active in sharing and singing the gospel, appearing frequently on Christian Television Ministry and hosting southern gospel music groups across Southeast Georgia. J.E. was co-founder of Southern Gospel Music Promotions. He was also a member of The Glynn Echoes, a southern gospel group.
J.E. retired from Georgia-Pacific Gypsum Plant in early 2000.
When not involved in his musical ministries, J.E. found joy in fishing, crabbing, and spending time with his beloved dog, Poo Bear, who was his loyal companion for 22 years.
A service to honor J.E.'s life will be held at Glyndale Baptist Church on December 1st at 2 pm with Brother James Lamb and Brother Allen Copeland officiating.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, a cause close to J.E.'s heart. J.E.'s profound impact on his community and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
