Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joseph (Andy) McIntyre on September 12, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System. He was born in Brunswick on February 14, 1976. Thus, his mom called him her 'Bicentennial Love Child.' 45 years was not enough! Andy was a 1994 graduate of Brunswick High School and played the trumpet in the Pirate Marching Band. Most of his adult life he worked for Cemex in Brunswick and Jacksonville. Joan said some are workers, but he was a friend. He was a driver as well as other duties at the plant. He is already missed. He is preceded in death by his Daddy, Danny McIntyre, and his grandparents, Louise, and James McIntyre. Also, his Grand Pa, Delmer McCall. Survivors include his beloved children Ryan, Amber and Nicholas McIntyre and their mother, Holly Jean McIntyre; his Granny Boo, Loretta McCall; Momma, Delrita McIntyre; and his fiancée, Alexis Lassiter. His four siblings are: Danny (Candace) McIntyre, Jennifer (Ricky) Powell, Jeremy (Jennifer) McIntyre, and Amy (Terry) Newton. Andy was a special part of our large family. His aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins mourn his death. His 'brothers' Bryan Jones, Brad Cooper and Chris Tindall will miss booming their systems, going to car shows and helping each other out. Handy Andy built numerous sound systems and a chicken coop. He was mechanical. Both skills were learned from his dad. He assisted his Uncle Tony McCall and Homer Haulman with P. A's Audio for special events. A Godly man who loved Jesus. He was friendly, kind, helpful and respectful. As a child he stuttered and was rather quiet and timid. He grew out of it and became a leader. A Celebration of Life Service will be this Saturday, September 18 at Glyndale Baptist Church. Following a meal for the family at 12 noon, visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. His funeral will start at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Ken Creekmore and Pastor Ben Campbell officiating. His family greatly appreciates the SGHS staff for their care for Andy and kindness to the family amid Covid rules. Thanks to Golden Isles Cremation Center/Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home for their respectful care for our loved one, Andy McIntyre.
