Joyce Marion McQuaig, age 91, entered heavens gates on November 28, 2022 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Joyce was born in Telfair County, Georgia. She was the second daughter born to Rubye White and Bernard Perry. The family moved to Brunswick about 1932. She grew up in Brunswick attending local schools and graduating from Glynn Academy High School in 1949, after which she attended business school in Macon, Georgia. In 1952 she married Randall M. McQuaig (Dink) of Darien, Georgia. At the time he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. In years to come they lived at many air bases including Germany. They ended their final duty station at Andrews Air Force Base. Her husband pre-deceased her so she and her 4 children returned to her home town of Brunswick in 1970. Soon after she worked for the Glynn Brunswick Hospital in the surgery lab. She later accepted a job at Kings Bay Submarine Base in Kingsland, Georgia. She later transferred to FLETC in Brunswick where she retired. Joyce was a charter member of Sterling Baptist Church and had attended Northside Baptist Church in the past. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Major Randall M. McQuaig, per parents, two sons Mike McQuaig and Jeffery W. McQuaig, in-laws Mae and Cary McQuaig, two sisters Carolyn P. Tipton and Rounell P. Faulkner. She is survived by her daughters Deborah McQuaig of Nashville, Tennessee and Linda Zangla of Brunswick, grandson Joseph Zangla, a sister Gaye P. Merier (Wayne). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all the ladies in the Memory Unit at Addington Place who cared for her with love as though she were family. In lieu of flowers the family would like for any donations in her memory be given to Hospice of the Golden Isles, St. Judes Children Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children or a charity of their choice.
