Julia J. Godley, 91, of Jekyll Island passed away Thursday, October 27, 2005 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. A native of Miami, FL, Mrs. Godley had been a resident of Jekyll Island since 1954. She was married to R.T. 'Red' Godley for 74 years. She was a longtime employee of Maxwell's on Jekyll Island and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Brunswick. She is survived by two sons, Gene Godley and Clyde Godley, both of Brunswick; one sister Willadean Hough of Portsmouth, VA; one brother Rayford Johnson of Cartersville, GA; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are: Sam Strickland, George Strickland, Toby Strickland, Everett Clark, Melvin Clark and Roy McDowell. Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
