On Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10:49 AM, Landon Paul Martinez, 12 years-old, went to be with Jesus. He passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his mom, surrounded by family and friends singing "Jesus Loves Me" and "Amazing Grace." He ran into the waiting arms of his Daddy, Nana, Papa, and many others who welcomed him with lots of love into heaven.
Landon was born on February 17, 2006 to his loving parents, Nicole Pellerito and Anthony Martinez.
To know Landon was to love him! Landon's infectious smile was evidence of his passion for life. As a young child, Landon enjoyed studying karate at Pak's Karate where he was able to earn his green belt/black stripe. Landon was great at rallying a group of friends together to play Fortnite. He also loved playing guitar and was an avid baseball player. Landon was a student at Glynn Middle School where he was active in the 4-H Club. Reading was Landon's favorite subject! His teachers thought the world of him, as did his friends. Landon was also a member of The Chapel where he was very involved in their youth group, Thrive. Landon loved Jesus and had a servant's heart. He was a true joy to be around!
Landon is survived by his loving mother Nicole Pellerito of Brunswick; uncles David (Tracy) Haight and Adam (Becky) Haight, all of Brunswick; uncles Chico (Teresa) Martinez of Adrian, MI, and Ray (Natasha) Martinez of Sarasota, FL; paternal grandmother Alice Martinez of Adrian, MI; aunt Emma Dean (Dan) Schwartz of Adrian, MI; and several cousins.
Memorial Services will be Sunday, October 14, 2018, 3:00 PM, at The Chapel Midtown, 114 Harris Farm Road, Brunswick, GA 31520.
A very special thank you to Dr. & Mrs. Al-Jabi for their exceptional care in the health of Landon all these years. I could not have asked for a better pediatrician. They loved Landon, this I know.
Thank you to Sarah Moore, Alison Hancock, Elaine Brown, Kristen Keene and Tracy Haight for their endless love and support, and for never leaving my side through the worst days of my life. To Rachel Fitzpatrick - your unwavering devotion in prayer for nights on end, for sitting by Landon's side for hours holding his hand - I can never thank you enough! To Barry Al-Ostta - thank you for loving Landon, for mentoring him and guiding him when he needed the wisdom of a man, and for always looking after his mama in her time of need. You are our Superman! I love you all, Nicole.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bank OZK in memory of Landon Martinez.
