Larry Gene Stringfield was born on June 25, 1949 in Toledo, OH.. On August 9, 2018, he went to meet his Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his father Tasbern William Stringfield, sister Sandy Berch, his late wife, Michele Stringfield, and his infant son that died at birth. He was survived by his wife of 29 years, Martha (Cox) Stringfield, daughter Michel (Todd) Hokanson,, Son Micah (RoyceAnne) Stringfield, daughter Megan (Rodney) Brown, and son Matthew (Lauren) Stringfield. His grandchildren: Ethan Hokanson, Aleta (Caleb) Mundt, Seth Hokanson, Samantha Stringfield, Lexie Stringfield, Micah Stringfield jr., Caleb Stringfield, Titus Stringfield, Rebekah Stringfield, Rachel Stringfield, and Robert Brown. His siblings: Pam Stahl, Barry Stringfield, Jeffery Stringfield, Cindy Adkins, David Stringfield, Dewey Stringfield, Malinda Stringfield, Timothy Stringfield, spouses, nieces and nephews.
Larry was a missionary to Kenya East Africa for 44 years. He spent his life spreading the gospel of Jesus. He will mostly be remembered for his fervent witness to the lost, his humor, his love for his family and the Kenyan people. He was a graduate of Baptist Bible College in 1970 and again in 1992, and with his masters from Grace Theological Seminary in 2002. He never knew a stranger. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, coloring, teasing his wife and grandchildren, music from the 50's and 60's, classic movies, southern gospel, classic horror films, war movies, sermons, and reading his Bible. He had a great love for teaching, especially under a tree with the Kenyans.
There will be a service in Brunswick, Georgia on Wednesday August 15, 2018, at Glyndale Baptist Church at 11:00 with a viewing at 10:00 am. There will be a service Saturday the18th in Elkhart, Indiana at the Omega Center, 700 Middlebury St. Elkhart 46516. The family will be receiving friends and family from 10-12 and the service at 1:30. If you are an out of town guest or family there will be a luncheon provided by the funeral home between the visitation and service.
In lieu of flowers please send any gifts or donations to be mailed to Baptist Bible Fellowship International, P.O. Box 191 Springfield Missouri, 65801. The funds will be used to start an orphanage project that Larry wanted to start and never had the opportunity.
