Larry Wheeler, 62, of St. Simons Island, went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2015, at Southeast Georgia Health System. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 - 8 PM at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. A native of Lewes, Delaware, Larry had been a resident of Glynn County since 1987. He was a prior resident of Indiana where he was in law enforcement. He served in the U. S. Marine Corp, having served in Viet Nam. He was a member of both the Indiana and Georgia National Guard. Larry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marianne "Mur" Wheeler of St. Simons Island; his faithful companion, "Henry", 3 sisters, Karen Brewer and Vanessa Strickland, both of Buccatunna, Mississippi, and Carey Ditton of New Castle, Indiana; 2 brothers, Charles Wheeler of Woodward, Oklahoma, and David Wheeler of Neely, Mississippi, and several nieces and nephews. The family request that Memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
