Lloyd Earl Thompson, Sr., 93, of Brunswick died on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Mr. Thompson was born in Dansville, New York, March 11, 1925, and graduated from Dansville Central High School, June 24, 1942. He joined the Navy on July 6, 1942, and served until February 9, 1946. While in the service he married Anne Ruth Giddens November 21, 1944. They proceeded to move to Brunswick in 1958, started Thompson's Grocery in 1960 and owned and operated the store until 1990. He loved to play golf, and was a member of the Brunswick Country Club for 20 years. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife Anne, his sister Phyllis, his son, Lloyd E. Thompson, Jr. and his granddaughter, Jessica Anne Thompson. He is survived by his brother Morris Thompson of Batavia, New York, son Wayne Thompson (Claire) of Waynesville, one daughter, Dianne Thompson Harris of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson (Roger), William "Billy" Knox, Melinda Thompson and Lloyd E. Thompson III; three great grandchildren, Joshua Lloyd Anderson, Hannah Anne Anderson, Parker William Knox, Olivia Thompson, and several nieces and nephews.
