Lois Self, 92, passed away at Bayview Nursing Home on August 15, 2012. A loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, has gone on to be with her heavenly Father, preceded by her husband, Gordon H. Self. She leaves behind son, Wendell Self (Grace); son Toby Self (Betty); grandchildren, Ritchie Self (Rissa); Steve Self (Angie) and Seliest Harvey (Pat). She was also blessed to be the great grandmother of five. Mrs. Self, a native of Sylvester, Georgia, retired from Ballard Elementary Cafeteria where she made countless lasting friendships. A longstanding faithful member of Bible Baptist Church and servant of the Lord, she will be missed greatly, and always remembered for her kind words and thoughtfulness, by all who knew her, be it a family member or a friend. The family will receive friends at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home, Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Ritchie Self, J.C. Bell and Rev. Keith Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Brooks, Billy Brooks, Ray Norman, Pat Harvey, Carl Self, and Craig Self. Honorary Pallbearers will be the faculty of Bay View Nursing Home. The family asks, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation
