Louise Dowling Mitchell, 97, of Jekyll Island, was predeceased by her husband Albert E. Mitchell III; son, Wesley C. Mitchell; and grandson, Tracy Lucas, who were all believers in Jesus Christ. She was welcomed to Heaven Sunday morning November 20, 2022, at her home on Jekyll Island, Georgia. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her children Linda Lucas (Dale) of Gladewater, Texas; Bill Mitchell (Donna) of Ashburn, VA.; Wayne Mitchell (Susan) of Hilliard, Florida; Scott Mitchel (Kim) of Brunswick; and daughter-in-law, Marissa Mitchell of Waycross, GA.; sisters, Kathern Altman, Katie Crews, Latrelle Kozar, and Sybil Muise; sister- in-laws, Winkie Dowling and Nadine Thrift; fourteen loving grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Mrs. Mitchell and her husband built their home on Jekyll Island in 1963, later returned with their family to live the rest of their lives on Jekyll Island, GA. She was a member and active in various functions/groups at Saint Richards Episcopal Church.

Working at Jekyll Island banks, she was well known by the residents of Jekyll Island. She was a long-time member of Jekyll Island Bike Club, Sand Dollar Club, Jekyll Island Ladies Group, Manna House, Jekyll Island Museum, Red Hat Society, Jekyll Island Garden Club, Jekyll Island Mahjong, and the Episcopal Women's Organization, she was also a member of the church vestry at Saint Richards
