Lt. Kenneth D. Shoultz, USN Retired (Ken) passed away June 2, 2013 at Sears Manor Nursing Home in Brunswick, GA. He was born February 17, 1929 in Cross Plains, TX to Dr. and Mrs. S.E. Shoultz. His early years were spent in East Texas, but at the beginning of WWII his family moved to Pensacola, FL. Upon graduation from Pensacola High School he enlisted in the Navy where he served as an Aviation Electronics Technician until 1963 when he was selected for the officer program and was commissioned an Ensign at Naval Air Station Agana, Guam. His first duty station as an officer was at NATTC Glynco, GA. Ken retired from NavSta Guantanamo Bay, Cuba on July 1, 1974. After two or more years of traveling, he and Jeannette settled in Jacksonville, FL. They were members of several square-dance clubs. Ken worked for Westside Communication Systems until 1992. In 2000, the Shoultzes moved back to Brunswick, GA and joined the First Baptist Church. Ken is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jeannette Shoultz; one son, Wayne Shoultz; one daughter, Linda Shoultz; one step-daughter, Joan Ligon (Johnny); 6 grandchildren, Amy Morris (Doug), Ann Owens (Joe), Judy Thomas, Matthew Clements, Dustin Shoultz (Gina), and Tracey DeAmicis; 10 great grandchildren, Elana DeAmicis, Gavin Shoultz, Kaylan Shoultz, Logan Shoultz, Lindsey Cravey (Nathan), Lauren Hulett (Casey), Leslie Owens, Justin Davis, Brandon Thomas, and Christin Thomas. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Brunswick Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Crandall officiating. The family will be at the home of Johnny and Joan Ligon at 1799 Perry Lane Road.
