Lyda Dell Pickle, 92, died Saturday morning at her residence on St. Simons Island. A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 25 at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mrs. Pickle is survived by two daughters, Sue Lackey and Joan Thompson, both of St. Simons Island; sister, Paulette Vaughn; brother Acey Roberts (Bonnie), all of Florence, Mississippi; one grandson, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Born in Leake County, Mississippi, Mrs. Pickle had been a resident of Glynn County since 1983. She was one of the 'Rosie The Riviters' during WWII. She was an exquisite basket weaver and a 'die hard' conservative.
