Obituary

Mable Ellen Wilcox Moyers 97, of Brunswick passed away on August 8, 2018 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Born August 10, 1920 in Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Perry Stuart Wilcox and the late Mable Bradham, to which she was one of seven children. She was the loving wife, for 66 years, of Patrick Henry Moyers of Tennessee. They met and were married in 1937 after he drove to Georgia looking for work. Henry always said he thought Ellen was the prettiest Georgia peach he ever saw. They were the parents of 8 children, losing a baby boy, Robert Ray. Mrs. Moyers always said she didn't want to outlive her children and only two daughters remain. She is preceded in death by her children, WH Moyers, Gloria A Collins, Vanessa Ann Young, Patrick Henry Moyers, Jr. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Ellen Vasquez (Joseph) and Carol Sue Pierce (Lance); daughter in law, Mary Earlene Moyers; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Ellen loved being a wife and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and loved having family and friends share her cooking. While she lived at St. Marks Towers, she baked and shared many cakes with her friends and the fireman at Christmas. She was a member of the Christian Renewal Church and a special thank you is extended to the Ladies of the Joy Ministry. A private graveside service will be held at Brunswick Memorial Park with the pastors of Christian Renewal, Pastor Bill Ligon and Pastor Mark Linton officiating. Thank you for the love and kindness Cheryl Mitchell, Hospice of the Golden Isles and to the Senior Care Center
