Tex was an avid golfer as a member of the Island Club and later Oak Grove Island Golf Club. He loved to hunt and fish and imparted that love to his son. Three years ago Tex was privileged to participate in Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. where the participants were given a hero's welcome. Earlier this year he was invited to attend the graduation ceremony for the OSI graduates at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center where he was honored by General Kevin Jacobsen, Commanding General of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, with a presentation of a photo of his graduating class of the OSI Academy in 1952.
