Marilyn Wynne Humphrey, 95, passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2026. She was born on June 19, 1931.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Lee Humphrey, who passed away in 1971; her son, Allen Humphrey; her son-in-law, R.V. Cate; and her grandson, Dylan Cate.

She is survived by her loving children, Delia Cate and her late husband, R.V. Cate, Amy Bailey and her husband, Jackie, and Michael Humphrey. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Lori Humphrey. Marilyn's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Thomas Humphrey, Cady Bailey, Ashley Bailey Flock (Rob), Ginny Humphrey, and Rebecca Humphrey; and her great-grandchildren, Addison Cate, Kaiden Cate, Bellamy Flock, Louis Flock, Bailey Flock, and Violet Humphrey; her beloved caregiver, Lovie Mobley; and her protector, Kiki the kitty.

A gifted musician, Marilyn earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Converse College and later received her master’s degree in media from Georgia Southern University. She devoted many years of her career to the Glynn County School System, where she served as a media specialist before her retirement.

Music was one of Marilyn's greatest passions. She shared her love and talent by teaching piano to countless students over the years and faithfully served as the organist at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church. Her music enriched the lives of many and was an expression of the grace and kindness that defined her.

Those who knew Marilyn will remember her as an amazing, kind-hearted, and gentle woman whose calm and easygoing nature made everyone feel welcome. Above all else, she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was the greatest joy of her life.

Marilyn's life was one marked by faith, service, music, and love. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, and beautiful memories that will be cherished by her family, friends, former students, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is honored to be assisting Mrs. Humphrey’s family with the arrangements. Service may be announced at a later date.
