Mary Louise (Lou) Thornton Blue, 100, passed away on December 26, 2025, in hospice in home care.

She was born October 9, 1925, in the Orange Park area of Brunswick, Georgia.

She graduated from Glynn Academy in 1943 and then went on to Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia

She worked at Coastal Chevrolet and then went to work for the next 34 years at Parker Helms Supply.

She went to McKendree Methodist and then to Lakeside Community until she was no longer able due to her health. She taught kindergarten Sunday school for 55 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Irene Miller Thornton and Benjamin Franklin Thornton, a brother Jonathan Franklin Thornton.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Blue of Brunswick. Many friends and relatives will miss her dearly. And two very special friends, Joe and Kathy Strickland, were always there for her and her family.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 2, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manna House of Brunswick, 1138 Cypress Run, Brunswick, Georgia 31523.
