Mary Linda Gault Hinson, 53, of Brunswick, GA, passed away Monday, October 16th 2017 at her residence.
Linda was born in Brunswick, Ga. to the late James R Gault Sr and the late Vangie Speer. on December 23rd, 1963. Linda grew up in Darien and was a 1981 graduate of McIntosh County Academy. Throughout high school, she worked at Archie's Restaurant in Darien. Linda pursued her dream of being a nurse when she graduated from Brunswick Junior College with a BA in Nursing. Before she retired from nursing, she had worked for the Brunswick Memorial Hospital, ABC Home Health, and was the owner of Lighten Your Load Medical Transcription Company.
In October 1986, she met (on a blind date) her lifelong husband and best friend. In June the following year, they were married in Brunswick. After marriage, they lived in Brunswick, then built a home in "The Ridge" in McIntosh County, and later moved back to Brunswick.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Steven Hinson, Sr.; one son, Steven Hinson, Jr. and wife, Nina of Valdosta; two daughters, Sarah Hinson and Laura Hinson of Brunswick; two grandsons, Clayton Todd and Gavin Hinson; nephews, James Ray Gault III, Candace Hinson, Joshua Hinson, Zachariah Hinson; great nephew, Jayden Hinson. Also, she leaves behind her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Hinson; brothers-in-laws, Farrell Hinson (Erica) of Brunswick, Scott Hinson (Terri) of Birmingham, AL; Todd Hinson (Jody) of Macon, GA, and one sister-in-law Sue Nell Hinson.
Linda's joy in life was her Grandsons, she loved being called Nana. She was a member of the Mineral Springs Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Lanier of Glynn United Daughters of the Confederacy, Leader in the Cyrus Dart Children of the American Revolution, Sgt. Benjamin Exum Chapter United States Daughters of 1812 and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Unit 9 of the Brunswick Post 9 American Legion.
She never met a stranger, always made time to talk, helped all that needed her, and was an excellent organizer.
A visitation will be held an hour before the memorial Service at First Baptist Church on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with her remains being interred in the Hinson Family Plot in the Hoboken City Cemetery at a later date.
Golden Isle Cremation/Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
