Maude Whaley Williamson Garner, 89, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Southeast GA Health Systems of Brunswick. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Gould Williamson and the wife of George Garner, Jr. Maude Whaley was a graduate of the Conservatory at Wesleyan University and held a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts. She was a member of the DAR, the DAC, Colonial Dames, UDC and Magna Carta. She enjoyed the Arts, music, genealogy, and gardening and was very involved in church activities. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Martha Lee Williamson Gibbs; and a brother, Van Gould Williamson. She is survived by her son, Judson Jay Garner (wife, Donna Garner); her daughter, Sheryl Dean Garner Mauldin of Louisiana; 8 grandchildren, Sarah, Mariah, Melanie, Donald, Antonia, Chet, Nykki, and Andrea; and 5 great grandchildren, Jay, Josh, Emily, Bryant, and Ryker. Visitation will be held from 10:00am - 10:30am on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the St. Simons Presbyterian Church. Services will begin at 11:00am. Entombment will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens immediately after the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association.
