Melissa 'Lisa' Annette Simmons, 41, of Goldsboro, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 4, 2009. She died suddenly due to an explosion of a truck she was working with for a fireworks show on Ocracoke Island, NC. Lisa was a candy striper at Nash General Hospital, went on to certify in Phlebotomy. Lisa also was certified in, and loved being an EMT and Paramedic.Lisa always chose to position herself in the work place so she could reach out to every sector of life, in helping any and everyone she could. Lisa was a friend to all and all were her friends. Lisa will be surly missed, as our hearts will be slow to mend.Survivors include her parents, Ted and Judy Gray of Brunswick; a son, Avery 'A'J' Simmons if Goldsboro, NC; 2 sisters, Nancy (Steve) Brake of Pinetops, NC; and Ginger Gray Bunn of Weaver, Alabama. 2 brothers, Jerry Lee (Dani) Hoffman of York, SC; and Jeffrey Scott (Janice) Hoffman of Clover, SC. She is also survived by her biological father, Ambrose Lee Hoffman of Clover, SC.
