Melvin D. Loper, 73, of Brunswick died Thursday at Southeast Georgia Health Systems. Mr. Loper was a lifelong resident of Brunswick, and was employed with Dependable Auto Body Shop for 30 years. He also worked for Ogden Guffy in Darien for 10 years. Mr. Loper was an avid fisherman.He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha Jeanette Loper of Brunswick; two sons, Tony D. Loper and Melvin Troy Loper, both of Brunswick; two daughters, Anita Jenkins and Vicky Steely, both of Brunswick; three sisters, Frances Lairsey of Brunswick, Udell Devaney of Alabama, and Olivia Bagley of Waynesville; one brother, Billy C. Loper of Brunswick; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
