Merrell Joseph "Joey' Prescott 57, of Brunswick, Georgia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at his home in Brunswick, Georgia after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 5, 1962 to Norman and Marjorie Prescott in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a hard worker who enjoyed spending time with his family. Joey retired from the Brunswick Housing Authorities after 16 years. He loved playing video games with his children and wrestling. He was known to be a jokester. Even on his bad days he would find an opportunity to make someone smile, laugh or shake their heads. Joey enjoyed watching Nascar, Wrestling and Florida Gator football. (Against his families wishes because they are all Dawg fans) He loved Dr. Pepper, playing cards and enjoyed spending weekends at Niecee's in Nahunta. Anything that would surround him with all of his family. Joey was a jack of all trades. He was an on call mechanic for his daughters and family, and he was always willing to help anyone and everyone with anything. Joey was preceded in death by his father Norman Prescott. He is survived by his children; Brandy Prescott (Hobbit), Macy Prescott (Trent), Seth and Jordan Prescott, all of Brunswick, GA. His mother; Marjorie Prescott, brother; Terry Prescott, sister; Norma Jean Aspinwall (Donnie) all of Nahunta, Georgia. Joey was "Papa' to Paighcee, Hayze, Jaelynn and Khloe. He is also survived by his beloved Mary Prescott and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 18th at 1:00 pm at Bachlott Church of God in Nahunta, Ga with Pastor Emily Rewis officiating.
