Merry Lyn Miller left this earth to be with the Lord on December 31, 2022 at the age of 70. She was born July 14, 1952 in Akron, Ohio. Merry graduated from Green High in 1970 and entered the nursing field. She loved helping and caring for others and dedicated herself to select hospitals over the years as an assistant.
Merry was a devoted, loving Christian, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to travel with her friends and close family prior to settling down. She married Chris Miller in 1987 and began a new life moving to Saint Simons Island, Georgia in 1989. Shortly thereafter, she became a single working mother who remained steadfast in her duties and commitment to her children.
Her faith was strong and showed in all aspects of her life. Merry enjoyed making memories with her children, scrapbooking, sewing, and many other hobbies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mary Estes (2011 and 2022), brother Doug Estes (2009), and fiancé Darwin Proctor (1999). She is survived by her children: David Miller, Deanna Wright (Garrett), siblings: Bob Estes (Dottie Chris), Dave Estes (Sheree), Jim Estes (Lilibeth), Dianne Bulgrin (Don), grandchildren: Ryan Clark, Zachary Wright, and Levi Wright, Aunt: Vera Horne aka "Weira," and sister-in-law: Vicki Estes Kellogg. Several nieces and nephews: Michelle Lambert (Chad), Doug Estes Jr, Dan Estes (Kim), Dennis Estes (Stacey), Kristy Mollohan, Michael Estes, Sophia Estes, Olivia Estes, Donald Bulgrin, Matthew Bulgrin, Stephanie Bulgrin, Andrew Bulgrin, Shane Estes, Cody Estes, Mindy Cromer (Justin), David Estes (Angela), and Dana Schaal (Steve), as well as many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Schermesser Funeral Home at 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, Merry would have requested donations to be made to nami.org in honor of her.
Golden Isles Cremation Center/Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.
