John 'Michael' Gilder, 51, of Pahoa, Hawaii and formerly of St. Simons Island, died peacefully in his sleep on October 23, 2006. He was a Construction Supervisor and an aspiring musician. He was a Glynn County native but had been a resident of Hawaii for the past 10 years. He enjoyed playing his guitar and helping many of his friends. He is survived by his three sisters: Michelle Waits of Cumming, GA, Judy Wright and her husband, J.R. of St. Simons Island and Melissa Gilder of Atlanta; one brother, Steven Gilder of St. Simons Island; one aunt; several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends in Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and The Honorable Bernice M. Gilder. A 'Spreading of the Ashes' Memorial Ceremony took place in Kalapana, Hawaii on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Solid Rock Ministries (Children''s Organization), P.
