Michael Joseph Zwolinski, 72, passed away at Southeast Georgia Health Systems on June 29, 2021, from complications relating to Parkinson's disease.
Born on March 20, 1949, in North Tonawanda, New York, Michael was an avid fisherman for most of his life. He enjoyed a wide variety of sports, as well, including skydiving , baseball, softball, volleyball, broomball, tennis, and golf. He also enjoyed tinkering in model airplanes and cars, guitar, electronics, automobile repair, home improvement, computers, and just about anything else. If it needed to be fixed Michael would always find a way to 'MacGyver it'.
A true lover of music and the perfect sound, he would spend hours listening to music and adjusting the various knobs on his amplifier to try to achieve that perfect sound. He was also a voracious reader and would go to the library at least once a week to take out stacks of books. His favorites were ones with themes of espionage, spies, or war, like Clive Cussler's series and Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series.
Michael was able to take early retirement from his career as a computer systems analyst working for the State at the NFTA in Buffalo, NY, allowing him and Beverly to retreat to the Golden Isles. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his long explanations of all things technical, his ability to quote a movie line without missing a beat, and the unwavering love he had for his family.
Michael is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Beverly; daughter, Michelle; son, Jason (Amy); grandchildren, Steffanie (Stephen), Raymond, Brayden, Preston, and Madelyn; brothers, John, David, Teddy, and Stanley; sisters, Janice, Francine, and Mary Ann; and many nieces and nephews.
Remembrances may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Michaeljfox.org, Donation Processing, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
