Noble Watson Sorrow, 95, entered his heavenly home on January 31, 2022. He was born in Banks County, Georgia, on March 21, 1926.
After serving honorably in the US Navy during World War II, Noble graduated from Piedmont College in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree and was employed at Hercules as a chemist for 39 years. He was previously married to the late Ann Sorrow and together they raised their children, Becky and Greg. He gained a stepdaughter, Terri, in 1986.
Noble was a loving Dad and "Poppy". He was always eager to share his faith in God. He was a member of Norwich Baptist Church and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. He especially enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with his family. In 2016, he became a member of the Coastal Georgia WWII Honor Flight.
His words of wisdom were, "Work hard for what you want. Don't give up early. Love this country and make it a better place for everyone. Depend on God to help you through the hard times."
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hassie Sorrow; siblings, Grace, Montine, Johnnie Loe, Charles, Claude, and Lois; and a grandson, Jonathan.
He is survived by his son, Greg Sorrow of Brunswick; daughter, Becky Wahl of Augusta; stepdaughter, Terri Hunter (Bobby) of Waynesville; grandchildren, Tiffany Baker (Ricky), Casey Owens (Katie), Jacob Owens (Kaycee); nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
