Opal Faye Bryant Rocha, 80, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Southeast Georgia Health System surrounded by her loving family.
Born August 16, 1945, to Jonathan and Faye Bryant in Willacoochee, Georgia, Opal was a lifelong resident of Glynn County, attended Arco School, and was a 1963 graduate of Glynn Academy. In 1966, she married Roy Canas Rocha.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and was a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School. Opal's passion was to educate and enrich the lives of young children. After 20 years of service and a Teacher of the Year honor, she retired when her twin grandchildren were born to help care for them. She also enjoyed shopping, reading, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Betty Ann Bryant and her brother William (Bill) Bryant.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roy Rocha; daughter, Kim Leggett (Curtis); son, Todd Rocha (Tara); grandchildren, Evan Rocha and Emily Green (Payton); sisters, Barbara Hermes (Ron) and Kathy Preston; and sister-in-law, Joyce Bryant.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, in Brunswick Memorial Park with Reverend Jimmy Crandall officiating.
