IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia
Baker
March 27, 1952 – December 19, 2023
Patricia "Prissy" Warr Baker, age 71, of St Simons Island GA went to be with her Lord and Savior on
December 19, 2023.
Prissy had such a vivacious spirit and joyful presence. She had a beautiful gift of making people feel like
they were the most important person in the room. She was so well-loved by her husband, Phillip, and
they made the sweetest memories together during their 15 years of marriage. She had a passion for
helping children and enjoyed her 45 year career as a Speech-Language Pathologist in various schools.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church St. Simons Island and loved sitting on the very pews
her parents, Pat and Joe Warr, and grandparents, Victoria and Frank Harrison, once sat. She was a
member of the Love, Joy, Laughter Sunday School class and felt a huge joy in writing encouraging notes
and prayers to others on a weekly basis.
Of all her roles she had in life, she held that of "Pitty Pat" as the most important. Whether it was
birthday parties, dance recitals, or sporting events, she was her grandchildren's biggest fan! She had a
knack for making everyday moments into fun, joyful memories.
Prissy was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Warr, and father, Joe Warr both of St. Simons
Island, GA.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Phillip Baker, of St. Simons Island; her daughter, Tricia (Luke)
Gunnells; and her two grandchildren, Tricia Cate and Walker Gunnells all of Fairhope, AL. She is also
survived by her two brothers, Bill (Susan) Warr of Birmingham, AL and Jim (Lyn) Warr of St. Simons
Island, GA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday December 22, 2023 at 10:30am at First Baptist St.
Simons Island, GA.
In Lieu of flowers, Prissy requested that a donation be made in her honor to J. Larry Newton Elementary
School, 9761 County Road 32, Fairhope, AL 36532. Prissy thoroughly enjoyed supporting this school and
their library and the family would love for her legacy to continue there. "Pitty Pat Fund" can be placed
on the memo line.
Donations can also be made to First Baptist Preschool 510 Demere Rd, St Simons Island, GA 31522 with
"in memory of Prissy Baker" on the memo line.
