He was born in Pamona, Tn., on top of Cumberland Mountain. He came to Brunswick for work in 1936, and married in 1937. He lived in Brunswick until moving to Camden, Co. in 1971 after retirement. He worked on Jekyll Island, Ga. at the power House until World War II broke out and stayed on to help close the Island. He then worked at the Brunswick Shipyard until going into the Navy where he trained to become a Merchant Mariner and served as Ships Carpenter. He was a third generation skilled woodworker and cabinet maker. Ater serving his country, he was supervisor over several local cabinet shops before starting his own, 'Moyers Cabinet Shop', located on Hwy. 341.
