Paul Bernard Henson was born on August 26, 1938, to Thomas and Geneva Henson in
Washington, DC.
He attended Washington, DC public schools. He served in the United States Army and
the Army Reserves. He achieved the rank of Specialist 4th Class as a heavy - equipment operator
and received an honorable discharge in 1965
In 1960, he married Mary L. Henson. From that union, three children were born. He worked as a long-haul truck driver and a construction worker for many years until his health declined.
He departed this life on February 12, 2017, at Hospice of the Golden Isle in Brunswick,
GA.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Thomas, Melvin, and Richard
Henson; and two sisters, who died at an early age.
He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Henson (Fort Pierce, FL); two sons, Dedario Henson
(Fort Pierce) and Terence Henson (St Petersburg, FL); one daughter, Juandera Lewis (Fort
Pierce); four grandsons, Antwan Lewis (Fort Lauderdale, FL), Antonio Lewis (Gainesville, FL),
Anthony Lewis Jr. (Fort Pierce), and Antravious Lewis (Fort Pierce); one great-grandson,
Antonio Lewis, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Amonni Lewis; one brother-in-law, Therman
(Betty) Wolley (Fort Pierce); three other sisters-in-law: Margaret Porter (Fort Pierce),
Mildred Henson (Fort Washington, MD), and Deloris Byers (Fort Pierce); a special nephew,
Christopher Henson (Reading, PA); special friends, Priscilla Ann Gardener and Brenda Butler
(Brunswick, GA); and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
