Paulette Everett, 69, returned to her heavenly home on April 26, 2017 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her husband and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Paulette was born to the late Evell and Lonnie Bland, a south Georgia farmer and a homemaker respectively, in Metter, Ga on May 12, 1947. She was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She was involved in the Primitive Baptist Church in Metter, Christ Fellowship in Carrollton and Christian Renewal Church in Brunswick, in each place she left the mark of her love, friends and flowers. Paulette loved Jesus with all her heart and passed it along.
Paulette was blessed with a small, but loving family. She married her best friend, William Colon Everett, on June 30, 1967. Paulette saw her only son, Mark as a miracle from God and raised him with love and respect for God's call on him.
Paulette was a nurturer. Whether it was a baby fish, an injured cat, a wilting orchid or a hurting soul Paulette was one to reach out with loving hands and a sweet word of encouragement. She was kind-hearted and genuine. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
Paulette is survived by her husband, Bill; her son Mark, (wife, J.J.); her grandchildren, William and Kathryn and her sister, Gladys Barnwell and her three daughters and their families. She is preceded in death by her brother, Maurice Bland and her parents.
There will be a memorial service honoring Paulette on Saturday, April 30, 2017 at 10:30am at Brunswick Memorial Park. Reverend William Ligon will officiate the service. The family gratefully declines flowers, but donations may be made in Paulette's name to Hospice of the Golden Isles.
