Peggy Elaine Bennett, affectionately known as Gurndie by many. Born to Nellie Louise and Andrew Jackson Guest, on September 7th, 1943, in Brunswick, Georgia.
Mrs Bennett passed away peacefully in her home on December 30th, 2023, at the age of 80, while surrounded by her loving family.
Peggy dedicated a significant portion of her life in service to her community where she worked with dedication and passion for the Glynn County Sheriff's Department, leaving an indelible mark on her colleagues and the community she served until retiring in 2005
Peggy's true joy in life came from her roles as a mother, grandmother, and sister. Gurndie adored her grandchildren and extended her love to many others, adopting them as her own.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggie Lynn Edgy, and her grandchildren Lexie Thompson, Lacie Poindexter, Landon Poindexter, and Adam Bennett. Her great-grandchildren, Athen Taylor, Andrew Jackson, and Waylon Thompson, Peggy is also survived by her beloved sister, Joyce Guest-Coley
Gurndie was preceded in death by her husband Howard James Bennett, sons James Bennett and Dewayne Bennett, sisters Helen O'Quinn and Sherry Guest, and a grandson, Johnathan Bennett. She is now reunited with her loved ones in eternal peace.
Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
May she rest in peace.
