Peggy Bailey 'Brown' James, 83 of St Simons Island, passed away Sunday at her residence. Born in Albany Ga, she moved here with her family in 1933. She was a graduate of Glynn Academy, Shorter Colege in Rome, Ga., and the University of Ga. in Athens. She was a school teacher for 31 years in Effingham and Glenn Counties. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryle Brown of St Simons Island; a son, Charles (Pam) Truman Brown of Jesup; a sister, Betty Hall of Roswell, Ga., and a grandson, Barry (Errica) Stubbs of Macon. A memorial service and commitment will be held on Wednesday, March 25th at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home. A closed casket visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family asks remembrances be sent to the American Cancer Society/Brunswick office, Heartland Hospice, and or the charity of your choice. The burial will be private.
