Obituary

Reba Patricia "Patsy" Leggett, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Addington Place in Brunswick.

Born in Douglas, Georgia, she lived most of her life in Brunswick and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a part-time Floral Designer, and worked at The Garden Shop for several years, and a full-time homemaker. Pasty enjoyed quilting and sewing and, along with her quilting circle, made quilts for the cancer patients at Nemours Children's Hospital in Jacksonville. She LOVED going to the Altamaha, better known as "The River," where her kids say they were the original River Rats. She enjoyed family gatherings where she could cook for everybody and gardening.

There was no doubt what Patsy was thinking. She would tell it like it is and she definitely didn't beat around the bush. She also loved laughter and loved to laugh. After they retired, she and her husband, George, enjoyed camping and camped all over the United States and Patsy became well known for playing Minnie Pearl.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Harvey Leggett, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Leggett Herndon (Wyndel) and George David Leggett. Patsy also loved and cared for Annette Chaney Kingsolver. Also surviving are her grandson, Wyndel "Larry" Herndon, Jr.; great-granddaughter, KayLeigh Monroe Herndon; brother David Wayne Merier (Faye); and several nieces and nephews.
