Rebecca White Anderson, 56, of Saint Simons Island, GA was peacefully called home to her Lord and Savior on December 29, 2019. Rebecca was born September 27, 1963 in Valparaiso, IN to the late Rev. John White and Donola McKinley White. She is survived by her beloved children, Stewart Anderson and Katherine Anderson of Saint Simons Island, her sisters Dona White Bonnevie and Susan White Underhill, her brother John White, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bradley Anderson, and sister Linda White Painter. Some of her fondest memories were of her early childhood years in Galena Twp IN, but the family settled in Orlando. She attended Cedarville University in Ohio, and returned to Orlando to start her career in the hospitality industry. She married the love of her life and soulmate, Bradley Anderson in 1992 and after starting a family, they moved to Saint Simons Island in 1999. Following the death of her husband in 2002, Rebecca assumed the role of both mother and father, and faithfully took the utmost care of her children until the day she died. She instilled dedication, persistence, morality, and honor, along with the joy of life to her children despite the many struggles she faced. Her memory will serve as the greatest source of inspiration to them for the remainder of their lives. Rebecca was a gifted artist, a purveyor of all fine things, and a passionate patriot. She most recently rekindled her love of theatre by working as a roleplayer at FLETC. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her children, her deep and abiding faith, her passion for life, her warm and friendly nature, and for her gift to maintain meaningful friendships throughout decades and despite distances. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, January 11, 2020 at Saint Simons United Methodist Church, 624 Ocean Blvd. The service will be followed by a celebration of her life in the SSUMC Thorpe Bldg.
