Richard S. 'Dick' Seavert, 83, of Darien passed away September 26th at his residence. He came to Georgia in 1961 from New York, and was retired from the Brunswick Pulp and Paper Co. He was a member of American Legion Post #137, the V.F.W., and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He loved gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy A. Seavert of Darien; children Rose (Jim) Spencer of Castile, N.Y.; Florence (Daniel) Stroud of Silver Springs, N.Y.; Cynthia Seavert of Wausau, Wis., and Bill (Danielle) Seavert of Darien. Step-children, Roland (Terri) Nieber of Darien; and Lonnet (Edward) Roddy of Kentucky. 12 grandchildren, Marie Herbert, Dawn Ebner, Erin Stroud, Cory Seavert, Mariah Harris, Hallie Williamson, Jackson Williamson, Joshua Seavert, Victoria Seavert, James and Hanna Nieber, Patrick Griffin, and Colton Butler. 3 great grandchildren, Shae & Alexsis Ebner, and Lakayla Herbert.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Rose and Stanley Seavert, a son, Francis S. Seavert, a grand daughter, Christa L. Herbert, and a grandson, Edward G. Herbert.
Memorial Services will be held Monday, Sept 30th in the chapel at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the chapel of the funeral home. The U. S. Air Force Honor Guard will be present at the memorial service.
