Richard Stephen Wurtz, 18, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away on May 2, 2024. He was born on July 30, 2005, to Stephen Greggory Wurtz in Farmington, New Mexico.

Having spent time growing up in Savannah, GA, Augusta, GA, and Brunswick, GA, Richard graduated from high school in 2023. He was working towards a bachelor's degree in science for secondary education.

In addition to his studies, Richard was an active member of the Scouting community, having earned his Arrow of Light award as a Cub Scout and earned the status of Eagle Scout in 2022. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow.

Outside of Scouting activities, Richard enjoyed gaming and spending time with his family. A truly generous, selfless young man, he also volunteered at the Manna House in Brunswick.

Richard is survived by his father, Stephen Greggory Wurtz; seven half-siblings; grandparents, David and Kristina Orum; a multitude of aunts and uncles, many great aunts and uncles, as well as an abundance of cousins, and his extended Scouting family.

He was preceded in death by his great uncle, Bill, of Wheeling, West Virginia.
