Robert Lee Eason passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.
He was born on September 13, 1931, in Trappe, Maryland to the late Milton and Nettie Eason. He was 87 years of age. He attended schools in Talbot County, Maryland where he grew up helping his father on their farm. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball, and he played when he could until he was 50 years old.
On April 4, 1957, he married Naomi Ruth Tyler. A few years after marriage, they moved to Ft. Myers, Florida where they had a small seafood business. In later years, he worked in seafood in Apalachicola, Florida. After moving to Darien, Georgia in 1987, he and his wife owned and operated Darien Soft Crab. In later years after that, he worked in security at the outlet mall in Darien.
He loved to work in the yard and visit with friends. He had been a member for several years at Golden Isles Church of God where he and his wife enjoyed cooking seafood for the dinners there. He also worked several years with his wife at the church's food bank and served as usher and greeter for several years.
He is proceeded in death by his son, Greg Eason, who passed away in 2014; his father and mother, Milton and Nettie Eason; three brothers, William Eason, Edward Eason, and Raymond Eason; six sisters, Helen Hicks, Mary Harrison, Margaret Tennent, Pearl Pritchett, Betty Miller, Naomi Behrens; and father and mother-in-law; Oliver and Margaret Tyler.
He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Naomi Eason; grandson, Michael Lewis of Bristol, Connecticut; brother-in-laws; Gordon Behrens, Paul Tyler (Barbara); and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, March 8, 2019, at 2 P.M. with a funeral service to begin at 3 P.M. with Reverend Nathan Smith and Reverend Bobby Tatum officiating. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.
